Downloaded a product?

The product must have been compressed and you need de-compress the database file as well as the software (Infot Directory Manager) before you can access the database. Also, the downloaded package is password-protected and you need the correct password to open it.

The general steps:

1) Unpack the downloaded package (file)

If the downloaded file is a executive file (exe), just run it. If it's a WinZip file (zip) or WinRAR file, you need proper software to open it. WinZIP or WinRAR can be downloaded from the vendor's website and you are free to use them for a short time. You will see several screens (see below) :

You will then be asked for the password when you open the package by running the file or using software. Don't bother try guess the password.

2) Copy and Paste the correct password from the email you received from Infot.

Infot also sent you the password when we sent you the download links. If not, contact us for the password using this form. Open your email software, check your email box for the message you received regarding the download links. Find the password line and copy the contents between [ ]. Go back to the package file (should be waiting for the password), click the password box, press "CTRL" + "V" to paste the password there and then press "OK" to continue. If you are prompted for error message like "incorrect password", try to COPY and PASTE password again. Be sure not to include the [ ] or any space before the string or after the string.

If you type the long password string, be sure to type them correctly. It's case-sensitive. (Not recommended)

3) Complete the install (de-compress) procedure which installs all files to your hard disk. Write down the directory where you install this package for later steps.

2) If it's a exe program, a short cut should be created for you as "Start -> Programs -> Infot -> Directory Manager". If you found it, start this program or you can find it at your system "program files" folder such as "C:\Program Files\Infot\DM30\dm30.exe" , where C: is the drive your Windows is located. Lunch it and if you see windows like below (your databases may differ), it's all done or you need check following steps.

3) Manually add the database file to the Directory Manager If it comes with nothing. The database file is already on directory of your hard disk (see above). Usually it's located at the same directory of the dm30.exe file and you just tell the Directory Manger to include it. To do so, apply the menu command of the Directory Manager "Tools | Add New Database" (see below), you will be prompted for a database file name like "*.tbb", browse the directory you installed the product, Click "OK", it will be added to the Infot Directory Manager.

Problem?

If you can not find the shortcut of Infot Directory Manager, search your hard disk for "dm30.exe". You can manually add a shortcut to this program.
If you can not find the database file, search your hard disk for files with extension of ".tbb". Few other programs use this extension so you can easily find them.
The install program (exe file) is actually a WinRAR package and it can be opened it with "WINRAR", a program similar to WinZIP and available from website.
The Infot Directory Manager need only one file (dm30.exe) so you can copy this file to any directory you want to run it, even on a floppy disk.
