Multiple products installation?

If you purchased more than one products and received multiple discs, you need install them one by one but pay attention to following issues:

1) You need only Install Infot Directory Manager once. The Infot Installer will detect the existing Infot Directory Manager automatically and it will try to install the new one when there is no existing Infot Directory Manager or the installed one is an older version. The following picture shows when the Installer detected a installed good version Directory Manager.

You need uninstall the Infot DM first before you try to upgrade it. Or you can just overwrite the program file (dm30.exe) using the one on your CD-ROM. (\Runimage\dm30.exe)

2) The Installer always try to install all the database files to the same directory (C:\Infot\dbs\ by default). However, you may want to install them to different directories to avoid disk space problem. If so, you need change the install target of the selected product by double-click on it's title. You will be prompted for a dialog asking a new path and filename to install the product.

3) Always close the Infot Directory Manager when you install the new products so the new database can be added to the Infot Directory Manager's list before it starts. If you installed a product but the Infot DM can not find it, add it manually using the "Add New Database" menu.

4) When you run Infot Directory Manager with multiple databases, DM will search all databases by default when you do the "searching" and it may take extra time to complete the searching. You can disable it by clear the check box "Search all database".

5) DM is designed to manage multiple databases without problem. However, if you are using a slow PC with less than 256MB RAM, you may see the decreasing performance after you have done a lot of searching and browsing, or even machine crash. If so, close the DM and restart it.

Problem?

Infot Directory Manager comes with nothing? You may need add those database files manually using the "Tools | Add New Database " menu.
